Pop Art emerged in Britain the 1950's as art based on modern popular culture and mass media. Pop Art picked up in the United States in the 1960's, and the term "Pop Art" was coined there in 1962.
Some famous Pop Art artists who's work has influenced my own are Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol and Wedha Abdul Rasyid.
